As I move through the archives for Art of the Day, I’m a little surprised at how many pieces I didn’t archive. This is the second post now where I’m using the card scan as my source file for the final art, this time from the Netrunner game.

Little Black Box (1996), 6x10” acrylic and collage on illustration board

There are a few reasons why this was the case. In the 90s, having a 1GB hard drive was a big deal. In 1996? Really big deal. And while I know I had the painting a few years before I parted with it, things grew but not as fast as you’d think. It’s funny to consider that with a painting of this size taking about 12mb of storage @300dpi, you had to really think about what you archived! I mean, adding in the sketches, you might add up to 20mb. For one painting!
