There and back again
At the start of my career, Iron Crown Enterprises secured the Middle-Earth license, and produced one of the earliest competitors to Magic with their game, Middle-Earth: The Wizards. Mostly because through the 90s, all titles needed a Title: Subtitle format. It was one of the better selling competitors early on, but lost steam after not very long, as most competitors all did. That game relaunched after the films, if I recall correctly, but didn’t last very long again.
So it was fun when Wizards acquired the license and rolled the IP into Magic, even with its reinterpretations of characters and such. I was there for the earlier game, and still around for the more recent one. It turns out that I think I am the only artist who worked on both games!
