The Bard returns
A lot of life stuff went on around the creation of this painting. In retrospect, that it was a fairly clean composition was a good thing, and whereas I usually take on two illustrations per wave of assignments, having just the one here was perfect as there would not have been enough time for a second!
I was allowed an unusually long deadline here as I couldn’t begin for awhile; I didn’t end up needing all the extra time, but it was super accommodating of Art Director Zack Stella at a time when what I needed a whole lot more of was time.
