Mixed and remixed
I was commissioned at one time to create this image for a purpose I can hardly recall at this point, for a European client. Mostly it allowed a lot of freedom to just create something cool, so that it was being used for a more niche marketing purpose was less important to me at the time. A short time later, I was able to license the image for use elsewhere, and that came with the opportunity to remix the image a few times.
This is the first final version of the painting, for the original client
I mentioned elsewhere that I had played quite a bit of Monster Hunter Tri, in 2010. It hadn’t occurred to me at the time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that whole feel wasn’t in the background when it came to this image, with a victorious heroine standing astride a dragon so large only a portion of it fits in-frame. In any case, it was fun to paint.
