With Whip | No Whip (2015)
You must choose
I haven’t had as much time in my schedule in recent years to continue with my practice of traditional still life painting, but in 2015, as now, basically from Halloween to the end of the year, a lot of pumpkin pie gets eaten in the Gallegos home. Too much, I’m sure.
That year, I served up two slices and took them into the studio to paint. I had noted that the morning light would rake in at a certain time in the morning, and if my blinds were down (as they often are), a narrow shaft of light would land across my drawing table for a short time. I set up two slices and two boards before me, and I worked on both at once.
