I’ve spoken elsewhere about the spate of Japanese mobile gacha-type role-playing games that were being put out in this era. Typically, they were commissioned as illustrations with variants—as the character leveled-up, the illustration would be altered as well.

In this case we have a Poisonous Wyvern, who has perched upon a spire in this town, essentially unreachable, and is about to lay waste to it with its noxious breath. The succeeding illustrations would illustrate the ruin of this town, and I used time-of day and the destruction of the buildings seen, to illustrate this. The wyvern’s look would also begin to change to become a bit more fearsome in each iteration.
