Fantasy Flight

Through the first 15 years or so of the 2000’s, Fantasy Flight Games was a publisher a lot of folks worked with across their roleplaying and trading card and other games. A lot of artists I knew got their start on FFG’s products, and the company is still around, though I don’t hear many folks talking about them as much. But that may be because I know fewer younger artists now than I did at the time.
I worked on precisely one project with them, which was for a few black-and-white interior illustrations for some roleplaying game or other. I couldn’t tell you with because it was a long time ago and I don’t even know if I ever got contributor’s copies! I present three of these for this month’s Sketch Gallery.
I don’t recall these having very detailed descriptions. I know the zipper-head on the creature above was just me doing stuff. I added another side to that mouth configuration and revisited that idea in the Magic illustration Maw of the Obzedat, nearly a decade later.
I haven’t talked much about occasionally posing for my own characters, but you can tell I posed for this one by all the muscles.
